first american financial corporation data center
This 50,000 SF, $30 million facility supports critical business operation of the company. As such, The Technology Center was to be constructed to the most stringent, "Continuous Operations" design standards. To achieve this Continuous Operation standard in earthquake prone Southern California, the entire facility was constructed on a "Base Isolated" foundation system. This system insulates the building from the impacts of the worst case earthquake anticipated in a 1000 year time horizon. In addition, all building environmental systems are designed to an "N+1" criteria which means that there are no "single points of failure" which could cause an interruption to the critical power and cooling systems serving the facility.
