marguerite tennis clubhouse
Conceived as a "pavilion" in the trees, this small building is designed to be an entertainment venue while functioning day-to-day as the clubhouse for the tennis center. The broad sloping roof form floats above a glass enclosed room allowing the entertainment area to enjoy fully shaded views of the tennis courts while the functional spaces including the restrooms/lockers and kitchen area are enclosed in stacked stone walls at the back of the space. The cedar wrapped manager's office straddles the indoor and outdoor spaces and offers a compositional counterpoint to the sloping roof and stone walls. With broad sliding glass doors the enclosed space can be completely opened to the surrounding patio and provide a comfortable naturally ventilated structure.
