fullerton community center
This 60,000 SF intergenerational community center combines the Fullerton Boys and Girls Club, the Fullerton Senior Center and the community recreational services programs into a single facility. Sited within the existing Amerige Park, the facility is divided into three wings, one for each to the major activity areas and is wrapped around an outdoor activity courtyard open to the surrounding park. Primary spaces include a double gymnasium, an indoor pool, multi-purpose main event room with full kitchen, arts and crafts rooms, meeting rooms and two computer technology teaching centers, one for adults and another for young children. Utilizing decorative concrete block, colored porcelain tiles, plaster and aluminum louvered sunscreens the building's design reflects the broad historical context of Fullerton's architecture.
