Rancho Cucamonga Sports Center
The Rancho Cucamonga Sports Center is a single story 34,994 SF recreation facility that includes 3 indoor high school regulation basketball courts, a concession and commons area with seating for 40 people, a party room and administrative office space with storage and restrooms. The major circulation space, the Hall of Fame and Commons, is defined by a large floating roof that bisects the building and creates a broad shaded entry and open light-filled lobby space and gallery. A large entry plaza welcomes the visitors on the west side of the building and an intimate landscaped and shaded courtyard provides an outdoor seating and eating area on the east side of the building. The facility also includes 3 outdoor basketball courts with a roof structure to provide shade. Both the indoor and outdoor gymnasium components are pre-engineered steel structures. The building materials include shot blasted concrete block, colored metal panels, painted acrylic plaster and porcelain tile.
